Comic Book Swap Meet Info...

With the Comic Book Swap Meet right around the corner, I figured it's probably a great idea to share some info about the show!

The Comic Book Swap meet (#ComicBookSwapMeet ) is our local "Mini Comic Con" we produce here on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State with the help of our team at, and sponsors Anime Kat, Whistle Stop Toys, and DiGee Ink Tattoo Shop, all great local businesses on the peninsula.

PNWSFX is a group I'm involved in with Vernon Howard (aka Zeke Ink) and Haylee Troncone (our cosplaying contributor here on the site). Go check out Haylee's Vaako armor she debuted at ECCC in the recap HERE

A little about our sponsors, and hopefully you check them out if your ever in the area. Anime Kat, is one of the biggest Anime shops around, and one of the only places here on the Olympic Peninsula to find any "remotely nerdy" goods! They carry a huge stock of new and used Anime, Manga, gaming supplies, and so much more. If they don't have what you need, the owner, Andrew will go to the farthest reaches of the planet to find it for you. Great shop in Port Angeles, WA, and can be found online at

Speaking of gaming and supplies, you have to check out Whistle Stop Toys! Steve carries all the hottest table top games, and goodies. He specializes in Magic the Gathering and Warhammer while have regularly scheduled gaming nights and tournaments. Not only are they the main retailer for MTG, they have an awesome selection of toys for the kiddos including Playmobil and Lego! They are located downtown Port Townsend, WA and have a great Facebook page at: Whistle Stop Toys. Whislte Stop will also be running a gaming area at the #ComicBookSwapMeet as well with MTG, Warhammer, and demos all day!

Had to share!!
Our friend Gary at DiGee Ink Tattoo shop is a resident nerd and tattoo artist, who when not completely busy can be found reading comics or playing Magic. He's an obvious fit for involvement in this event.

Did I mention he is an amazing tattoo artist too. I've let him work on me numerous times, including my Mandalorian skull and L.L.A.P on my wrist, and more to come! He's a good friend and nerd brethren. He can be found online at

I'm really excited having these great businesses involved!!

Like I mentioned, the Comic Book Swap Meet goes down April 30th at the Tri Area Community Center in Chimacum, Washington. We have no comic shops within an hour drive, so I produce these events to bring the comics to us. It's our own "Mini Comic Con" in the woods! Comics, Gaming, Cosplay, Collectibles, and so much more...

We have a lineup of great comic book creator guests too as seen here:

Show admission is only $5, and if you bring a non perishable food item for the food bank admission is only $3.

We wanna try something new too.

We are doing a very limited number of "VIP lanyards" for only $10! It will feature art from one of our comic book guests, Scott Adams, the creator or Sukotto, as well as show admission and a Sukotto poster which he'll gladly sign at the show...All for only $10. Portion of these proceeds will be going to a charity or fundraiser to be determined closer to the date. These passes will be available through Steve Strout and/or Scott Adams, and are in VERY limited numbers! Scott is also offering a sketch card, which he will be doing before the show, to the first 5 to buy the "VIP Lanyard" so get on it.

Contact us for more info!! Spread the word useing #ComicBookSwapMeet!! Cosplay is encouraged!!!
Steve Strout is the media mastermind behind this site, host of the Comic Book Swap Meet, nerd, terrible artist, gamer, convention goer and comic book reader who spends more time rescuing toys from thrift shops than a normal adult should. He is also known around the northwest for his promotion of live music and stand-up comedy events and is the creator/producer of the Comic Book Swap Meet mini convention, and Olympic Peninsula Comedy Competition (which will make it's big return in 2015). Follow him on Instagram at, and  He can be reached for comments at on twitter at @thestevestrout
