Cool Projects #7

Since its Halloween season, I find it only fitting to share some horror related stuff in the 'Cool Stuff' posts.

Never Hike Alone: Friday the 13th Fanfilm- Womp Stomp Films
First and foremost is a great fanfilm paying tribute to one of the great iconic film series, in the history of the genre, Friday The 13th. The series featuring the hockey mask wearing Jason Vorhees, is quite possibly the most recognizable villain of all slasher films.

Womp Stomp Films just released their Kickstarter funded film, Never Hike Alone via YouTube and Vimeo for your viewing pleasure on Friday October 13th. The film revolves around a hiker who stumbles upon and old campground and learns the dark secrets of its past. Sounds pretty intriguing to me? Find yourself a copy and give it a shot. I love a good slasher film, so I'm gonna take a stab at it too (pun absolutely intended). Get more info HERE
George A Romero Postage Petition
A project, of sorts,  near and dear to me is this campaign to honor and commemorate the life and career of the godfather of the zombie genre, the late George A. Romero.

The site www.morbidlybeautiful.com set up a petition online to try and get the legendary creator of Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow, and countless other classic horror films on a postage stamp. If you think this iconic filmmaker deserved to be honored with a postage stamp, please sign and share this petition HERE

Sukotto #6-
Scott Adams (Sukotto Studios)
Though is not considered a horror project, this series does feature demons and spirits.  We're excited to tell you about Scott Adams' creator owned ninja comic series, Sukotto, returning for its 6th installment from Sukotto Studios.
We've featured Sukotto multiple times here at
thestevestrout.com, and enjoy Scott's take on his ninja trying to stop with the evil Samurai lord. If youre looking for martial arts action with some supernatural twists, in a feudal Japanese setting, you'll dig this book. Issue 6 releases on October 18th. You can find more info at www.sukottostudios.com!
