Cool Projects #36

Time to keep the COOL PROJECTS series going with #36! Let's get right into it...

For starters, I'd like to introduce you guys to a new friend of the site, and a creator who is becoming a new favorite, Bradley Beard!

You guys know about my love for horror hosts, and Bradley Beard shares that same passion and shows it through his series of portraits honoring horror hosts past and present. He not only depicts these characters perfectly, he has a knowledge of the history of horror and creature feature hosts. Check him out at bradleybeard.com!

Bradley shared a few examples of his awesome work, sure to be appreciated by horror fans and art lovers alike! Check out the gallery of work Bradley shared, and be sure to check out his site, bradleybeard.com along with his apparel shop at www.fearwhatyouwear.com

Coming soon...Watch for the alien themed apparel line at Fear What You Wear

Count Crowley, the title character from my favorite new comic book, COUNT CROWLEY...which we've covered here extensively.

These next few characters shouldnt need introduction, of you're a fan of THIS site, but of course you know the Creature from the Black Lagoon and...

Count Dracula

Horror host icon, The Mistress of the Dark, Elvira!

Horror host, Lon Madnight

Ready for more cool? How about a new FIrefly comic from Boom! Studios?

“From the moment we first met him playing with his toy dinosaurs, Wash has been one of the most beloved members of the Firefly crew, and WATCH HOW I SOAR gives us everything we ever wanted to know about our favorite hotshot pilot and space husband,” said Jeanine Schaefer, Executive Editor, BOOM! Studios, referencing this next Cool Project in a recent press release.

BOOM! Studios is bringing us the next graphic novel installment from one of our all time favorite sci-fi series, FIREFLY! later this year we will get WATCH HOW I SOAR, featuring some backstory on the one and only Wash, the pilot of Serenity. Creators Ethan Young and Jorge Corona bring us Wash's story this November, and if it's as good as the other Firefly books from BOOM! Studios, this'll be a fun one.

Thanks for stopping by thestevestrout.com. In closing I'd like to add:

With the Covid-19 pandemic cancelling nerd conventions, closing theaters, and putting a damper on a lot of comic releases, movies, and other forms of media, I urge you great readers to try to find other ways to support these creators. Shop on their sites. Check with publishers and comic shops are doing direct deliveries. Theres so many ways to support our favorites. They need our help as much as we need their creations to get us through these crazy times and social distancing.

Steve Strout is the media mastermind (haha) behind this site, host of the Comic Book Swap Meet, nerd, terrible artist, gamer, convention goer and comic book reader who spends more time rescuing toys from thrift shops than a normal adult should. He is also known around the northwest for his promotion of live music and stand-up comedy events and is the creator/producer of the Comic Book Swap Meet mini convention, and Olympic Peninsula Comedy Competition (which will make it's big return soon!). Follow him on Instagram at http://instagram.com/thestevestrout, and  He can be reached for comments at ptcomedy@yahoo.com on twitter at @thestevestrout
