San Diego Comic Con Info

It's San Diego Comic Con Week, and I wanted to drop some quick show info about some con exclusives and events.

The following is just the tip of the iceberg as to the happenings, events, collectible exclusives, and panels going down during the godfather of all comic and pop culture shows...

With so many panels over SDCC weekend, I decided to share a couple from each day... you can find complete programming lists on the SDCC Blog.

Here are a couple highlights of personal from each day via the SDCC BLOG

Thursday

Skybound Presents: In Conversation with Robert Kirkman (3PM-4PM, Room 6A). Join comic book creator, writer, and executive producer Robert Kirkman for a Q&A with fans, discussing his latest projects including The Walking Dead, Invincible, Oblivion Song, and more

Game of Thrones (5:30PM, Hall H). Expected to Appear: Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei of Naath), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont), Conleth Hill (Varys), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark). Other panelists include creators and showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and director and executive producer Miguel Sapochnik.

To Shell and Back: An Exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Creator Panel (4PM-5PM, San Diego Central Library). It’s creator COWABUNGA time! Three generations of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles creators will take the stage to celebrate the history, fandom, and success of the Heroes in a Half -Shell. This exclusive history-making event will give fans rare access to co-executive producers Andy Suriano and Ant Ward (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), executive producer Ciro Nieli (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and legendary TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. United for the first time, these award-winning creators will answer fan questions, share audience giveaways and unveil never-before-seen original TMNT art. Moderated by Mike Cecchini (Den of Geek).

Friday

The Boys (3:30PM-4:30PM, Ballroom 20). Join executive producers Seth Rogen and Eric Kripke, along with series stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, and Elisabeth Shue, with moderator Aisha Tyler, for a behind the scenes look at their upcoming series. Based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super-powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven.

Saturday

Arrow Special Video Presentation and Q&A (3:30PM-4:15PM, Ballroom 20). Expected to Appear: Stephen Amell.

Batwoman Pilot Screening and Q&A (10:30AM-11:45AM, Ballroom 20).

What We Do in the Shadows Screening and Q&A (6:30PM, Room 6BCF). Recently nominated for “Outstanding New Program” by the Television Critics Association, What We Do in the Shadows is a documentary-style look into the daily (or rather, nightly) lives of four vampires who’ve “lived” together for hundreds of years. Join us for a special screening followed by a spirited discussion with series stars Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey GuillĂ©n, Mark Proksch and the creative team behind TV’s #1 vampire comedy! BAT!

Spotlight on Todd McFarlane (3PM-4PM, Room 6DE). Todd McFarlane, Image Comics founder, creator of SPAWN, co-creator of VENOM and McFarlane Toys CEO, talks about his 30+ years in the comic and entertainment industry. Todd will be raw and uncensored – talking toys, comics, industry advice and more! He will also be talking about one of the biggest milestones in his career, SPAWN 300 and SPAWN 301, which will set the record for the longest-running creator-owned superhero comic ever!

Sunday

Supernatural Special Video Presentation and Q&A (10:30AM-11:30AM, Hall H).

There's also a few notable panels of which I couldn't find dates, times, or venues such as:

Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog Screening.

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot (Hall H). Expected to Appear: Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes.

There are a bunch of Marvel Studios panels along with a Troma Films panel on Saturday, which I'd personally like to see...

What are you most looking forward to at SDCC? There is so much to do and see at San Diego Comic Con. It's too bad thestevestrout.com cant be there to cover the event, but if anyone attending would like to share their experience with our growing audience, shoot us a tweet at @thestevestrout or in our Facebook COMIC BOOK SWAP MEET page! We would love to share your experience!

Steve Strout is the media mastermind (haha) behind this site, host of the Comic Book Swap Meet, nerd, terrible artist, gamer, convention goer and comic book reader who spends more time rescuing toys from thrift shops than a normal adult should. He is also known around the northwest for his promotion of live music and stand-up comedy events and is the creator/producer of the Comic Book Swap Meet mini convention, and Olympic Peninsula Comedy Competition (which will make it's big return soon!).
